Letters From Adrea
January Update
That clean, white sprawl of fresh snow across the landscape, mounding and dipping, pillowing and drifting. The breathtaking chill of that first sip of frigid air. A cascade of blue hues layering a clear sky. The twinkle of the sun kissing the frozen flakes. The powerful, haunting quiet of winter has settled in for the months to come.
December Update
The billowing of flakes across the sky on a winter storm offer such unbridled serenity. That delicate click sound you have to be especially quiet to hear as the snow hits the ground and freezes to her friends. The white. The magic. The purity of an untouched blanket of snowflakes is breathtaking.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Writing this love letter to you each month-ish gives me great pleasure. I love the thought of each of you opening it up and savoring or scanning it for one little bit that makes you happy!
November Update
As autumn comes, we wake in darkness. It takes hours for the morning to arrive as winter whispers her way in. The cool air and bright sun tell the leaves it’s time to take center stage and shine all their brilliant color for us, then take their final bow.
September Update
This light arrives a little later now. And departs a little sooner. The breeze ripples and chills. The boys start their evening “feed me” stare an hour earlier. And though the clocks have yet to fall back, we have begun to welcome in autumn.
August Update
As I spend time at home in August and work on Truitt 3, I find myself thinking a lot about the “where” of my life. Where am I in my life? At what point or stage or moment?
June Update
A chilly gentle breeze starts our June mornings. The boys race out the door to chase the birds before I get it open more than a sliver.
May Update
As the dark skies of night illuminate with fractions of light bringing a new day to life, Fig, our self-appointed chief of household, awakens. He makes little noises and shakes his head to get me moving. It’s usually around 4:30 in the morning.
May In The Gardens
I feel myself among the flowers and the budding leaves of the trees. I’ll add a little set of snaps each month in hopes that you can smell the fragrances, hear the birds, feel the gentle breeze and taste the sunshine.
April Update
Spring is trying to emerge here in Vermont and I am beyond ready for it to arrive! In full confession, much as I have loved being home, quarantining in winter was a wee rough! So thrilled that the days are now longer.
March Update
